Belated Birthday Bash!

Image
In 2020 during the peak of Covid we tried to get my sister to go to Vegas during her birthday - not the greatest idea in hindsight, but we were healthy, able to quarantine, and excited for limited crowds. This was to be her 21st, and what better way to spend it than at the craziest party city we knew?? Of course, this fell through, and we postponed... Until April of 2021! As a combination belated birthday trip for Angie and a birthday trip for me!  And as an even bigger perk to the weekend trip, our parents flew in from Germany at the same time and spent the weekend with us in Vegas! Followed by a week long stay at my house: The trip was an absolute whirlwind - no stops only tons of things to do! We arrived Friday evening, close to 1am our time - definitely exhausted - and spent the night teaching Angie some games to play. Then we crashed hard, and still got up a the ripe hour of 6 to get prepped: AND THEN WE DROVE TO UTAH!!  But wait. this was supposed to just be a Vega...

It's been a minute....

Oh wow, I honestly forgot I started this blog - I guess I'll have to put blogging for ads and income on the back burner if I never remember to post haha! I have been busy being a first time home owner, and working a regular 9-5 that I just spaced on all things blog related. Now that I'm no longer working that traditional 9-5, new position supporting CA teams, my mornings are a lot more open for misc like blog posts! (though I will say, 11-7 is not a schedule I'm liking so far) With that being said, there are so many fun updates to share here that happened over the past few months! Now, I won't be posting one lump update - the next few posts will each be dedicated to one specific event. :) enjoy, because I know I have!

Fun Life Update

Image
So I hinted at a life update that would be keeping me in Macon for a while - and here it is! You're looking at the soon-to-be owner of historic Macon home! I've been in the market for a house for quite some time, and my partner can attest to how often I showed him new listings in the area. Most never struck his fancy, and since many would require his financial assistance, I wanted to make sure he loved the place just as much as I did! Fast forward through hundreds of Zillow listings, an attempt at purchasing a commercial building (good lord never again), and suddenly I spotted a post on our local neighborhood Facebook page - someone was trying to sell their house! I was thrilled, and not just because I absolutely love looking at houses - but the property is tucked away on a quite street downtown, right next to a park, and within the price range that would allow me to purchase it on my own.  So I take this house number 13576 to Alex for his opinion (not the true count, but Ale...

Weekend Getaway

Image
One of the best things about living in Macon is we're just about smack-dab in the middle of Georgia - meaning most trips within the state are at max 3 hours of travel! Alex and I took advantage of this prime location and went up to Atlanta to see Alex's friends Bre and Jamie. The hope was to spend the weekend playing video games, and watching the stream of the video game company Blizzard's annual convention (hosted virtually this year due to Covid).  We made it just in time to catch the opening announcements - and about 15 minutes into the first side bar decided that this was just not as fun as the true convention content! So the weekend plans changed and we played board games the rest of the evening.  I'm not great at taking photos during close friend interactions - I try to stay in the moment usually, but damn do I regret not taking a photo of the first game we played that evening. It was aptly named Aggravation and the playing board was made by Bre's family membe...

Hi There

The first blog post is typically an introduction, so I'll start there! My name is Elizabeth, and my friends and family call me Liz or Lizzie. I'm from a few places, but in all honesty, I grew up in Warner Robins GA. My folks stayed there until just about two years ago, when they moved out to Germany. Mom's living the dream getting to travel, and left us sorry suckers behind! Check out her blog if you don't already follow her -  Donna's Word Doodles I followed the Warner Robins dream and got a job on the Air Force base, and soon after moved to downtown Macon! I've been a resident here for going on 3 years, and am planning on sticking around longer with my latest life update (more on that in a later post - oooh suspense!!).  My younger sister Angie recently moved into downtown as well! With all the Covid happenings in the world she wasn't having a great time on her own in Atlanta, so she moved on down to live closer to me. The great thing is we're no longe...
